Hello and welcome to my campaign website. My name is Peter Richards and I am standing as the Prospective Conservative representative for Snitterfield Ward in this year’s elections.
This will be my first time standing as a candidate which I am very enthusiastic about. Over the last four years I have worked closely with our District Councillors, in particular on planning issues, and with that experience I am confident that I can make a positive contribution to the Snitterfield Ward.
By way of background, I was born in Northampton and lived in a small village in Buckinghamshire where I was educated, eventually settling in Stratford-upon-Avon almost nine years ago. At university I read engineering before following a career in financial management.
Since moving to Stratford I have been heavily involved in local sport, in particular playing rugby for Claverdon and cricket for Stratford. In my spare time I coach junior cricket for Warwickshire and Stratford where I am a member of the club committee as Director of Junior Cricket.
In recent years I have developed my interest in politics and in particular issues that affect smaller communities. Having grown up in a small village myself I am very aware of the fact that smaller villages such as Snitterfield, Charlecote, Hampton Lucy and Wolverton can be overlooked when it comes to District and National Policy. Fighting for those villages is vitally important, to lose sight of those would be to lose sight of our heritage, what makes this country such a great placeto live.
I am very much a team player and if elected would be able to work with the Conservative Group to make a real difference especially in relation to housing and local issues within the Ward. To have any influence it is always important to be within the Party and not outside.
Please feel free to contact me either by telephone or email or through the contact form on my contact page. I am ready, willing and able to help.
I look forward to meeting you during my campaign in the coming weeks.
